New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced on Thursday that he endorses President Barrack Obama in the upcoming presidential elections of 2012 because he feels Obama's environmental policies will be more effective in curbing global warming.
Major New York LaGuardia Airport reopened Thursday four days after major hurricane Sandy. New York's other major airport John F. Kennedy, and New Jersey's Newark Airport reopened Wednesday, but due to excessive flooding LaGuardia remained closed for an extra day.
Hurricane Sandy has devastated many regions on the East Coast. The storm, which has been called the greatest storm on the East Coast, has caused power black outs in many areas, destroyed homes and lives as well as completely debilitated the New York City transit system.
President Barrack Obama visited the Red Cross and thanked the organization for its service during the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, which hit the East Coast over the weekendresident Obama said, "we want to thank them (Red Cross) for their outstanding work," as reported by NBC News.
