Many viewers who watched the live 2012 election coverage on Tuesday Night, noticed something peculiarly odd about ABC Anchor, Diane Sawyer's coverage of the night.
Throughout the coverage, Sawyer seemed to be continuously slurring on her words and appearing "loopy" as the Los Angeles Times calls it. In the video below she can been seen hosting the event at the ABC Election headquarters along side with George Stephanopoulos.
One person tweeted, "Yeah. Diane Sawyer's giving off a bit of a "Will McAvoy on Bin Ladin Night" vibe if you know what I mean," Daniel Fienberg @HitFixDaniel.
While another tweeted, "20 million tweets about election night.. I think 19 million are about Diane Sawyer,"@ ellenkmartin.
Yet another said, "I wonder who's drunker, Chicago or Diane Sawyer,"Cezz @thecerrashow.
But Brian Shelter of The New York Times, defended fellow journalist when he tweeted, ""Diane Sawyer's name is trending. Many people saying she seems drunk on air. Alternative theory: she gets this way when she's really tired"
Viewers immediately took to twitter poking fun at her deliverance.
Sawyer joined ABC 's World News in 2009, before which she hosted the Good Morning America show, preceded by her be co-anchor on 20/20. She is 66-years old and is married to Mike Nichols.
