The Starbucks franchise has unleashed a new policy: smokers will be forbidden to light up a cigarette within 25 feet of its storefronts. This new policy, which also bans smoking on patios, has just gone into effect on June 1 nationwide and Canada. 81.3 percent of the U.S. population lives under some kind of a ban on smoking, either in the workplace, restaurant or bars, according to the American Nonsmokers' Rights Foundation.

The hospital listed Blaylock in critical condition on Friday, and police said the former professional basketball standout was placed on life support for a short time during the day.
Police said that eight people were arrested on Friday morning after a brawl broke out following a kindergarten graduation ceremony in Cleveland, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported. The fighting started between a pair of teenage girls who apparently just began hitting each other, supposedly over "spilled punch." Family members, of all joined into the "melee" at Michael R. White Elementary School in an urban area of Cleveland.
