Mhai Scott, who is reportedly 38, waived a knife at sheriff's deputies once they arrived at the scene. When an officer attempted to use a stun gun after she went after them reportedly "did not work," another officer then fired a gun, killing her. One officer was injured.
A 12-year-old boy accused of fatally stabbing his younger sister, Leila, denied a second-degree murder charge through his attorney in juvenile court on Wednesday. The boy's lawyer said he plans a strong defense. If convicted, Isaiah Fowler could be incarcerated until his 23rd birthday.
