An Indiana woman who was found naked from the waist down while sitting on a one-year-old's face has been charged with attempted murder.
Kendra Lee Proctor, 37, had just finished watching a movie around 10:30 p.m. Sunday, described as "Godly," when she began acting strange, Fox 59 reported. An adult who was with Proctor said the woman began behaving weirdly and asking odd questions.
The station reported that when the adult witness went to check on a 1-year-old who was in another room, she found Proctor naked from the waist down sitting on the child's face. The adult witness told police that she proceeded to "beat the f---" out of Proctor to stop her.
According to the station, police learned that Proctor might be schizophrenic and she had difficulty explaining why she did what she did. Proctor allegedly told the adult witness, "I thought this is what you wanted me to do," and "this is what I'm supposed to do."
Police also spoke to a juvenile witness, the station reported. The juvenile witness said that Proctor had touched her inappropriately, told her she planned to "sacrifice her," and told her to "open her legs."
According to WKRC, Proctor admitted in an interview with police that she tried to suffocate the 1-year-old. Proctor said she hoped that by doing so the adult witness would kill her. The station reported that Proctor's reasoning was described as "incoherent."
Fox 59 reported that Proctor also told police that she had sexual intent when she sat on the child. Proctor was initially charged with molesting a child under the age of 14 and attempted murder.
