Hollywood is mourning the death of Rob Reiner, the famed actor and director, whose career spanned decades.
Reiner, 78, and his wife, Michele, 68, were found Sunday stabbed to death in their Brentwood mansion. The Los Angeles Times reported that their son, Nick Reiner, 32, was in custody and being questioned at 9:15 p.m. and that he was booked into the county jail at 5:04 a.m. on suspicion of murder.
In the aftermath of the shocking double homicide, PEOPLE reported that various celebrities were seen visiting Reiner's home. Among them were Billy Crystal, 77. Crystal starred in Reiner's film, When Harry Met Sally... in 1989. Crystal also appeared in the Reiner films This is Spinal Tap, 1984, and The Princess Bride 1987.
Also seen at Reiner's home was Larry David, 78. David was a co-creator of Seinfeld and later was the star of the long-running HBO show Curb Your Enthusiasm, which Reiner had appeared on.
TMZ reported that Rob and his wife were found around 3:30 p.m. by one of their daughters who called police. The website reported that the daughter told police that a family member "should be a suspect" and that the family member was "dangerous."
According to PEOPLE, Nick Reiner had a long history of substance abuse and addiction. His first stint in rehab happened when he was 15. For a time, he ended up homeless before finding his way back to his family.
"Now, I've been home for a really long time, and I've sort of gotten acclimated back to being in L.A. and being around my family," Nick told PEOPLE in 2016.
