The mother of a New York man who killed three of his family members worried that he might turn violent someday.
In June, Joshua Fowler, 26, killed his wife, Whitney Fowler, his father, Wilson Fowler, and step-grandmother, Anita Crandall, at their Cropseyville home
"I told his father when he was 15 years old, 'you need to get him mental help because he's going to kill somebody someday,'" Eleanor Crandall, Fowler's mother, told WRGB-6.
Fowler pled guilty this month to three counts of 2nd degree murder. He faces 45 years to life for the triple homicide.
"To me, my son died that night, too," Eleanor told WRGB-6.
Eleanor told the station that Fowler had long struggled with mental health issues.
"I hate him," she told the station. "And that's a very strong word in my vocabulary. I don't use that word unless I have to."
According to the Times Union, police had been to the home at least twice before on domestic disturbance calls. The newspaper reported that in 2018, police were called in relation to an incident involving Joshua and Wilson Fowler. In 2021, police were called again for an incident involving Joshua and Whitney Fowler.
