The FBI says it stopped a planned Halloween weekend terror attack in Michigan this morning, arresting several individuals involved in the plot.
"This morning the FBI thwarted a potential terrorist attack and arrested multiple subjects in Michigan who were allegedly plotting a violent attack over Halloween weekend," FBI Director Kash Patel wrote in a post on X.

Patel said that details would come. Local Fox 2 reported that FBI agents were conducting operations in Dearborn and Inkster early Friday morning. The station reported that the FBI office in Detroit confirmed the activity but provided no details.

WXYZ-7 reported that city officials were told about the operation and hours before it occurred. The station published this statement from the Dearborn Police Department: "The Dearborn Police Department has been made aware that the FBI conducted operations in the City of Dearborn earlier this morning. We want to assure our residents that there is no threat to the community at this time."
This is not the first a terror attack has been planned around Halloween. In 2017, on Halloween, Sayfullo Habibullaevic Saipov used a rented truck to murder eight victims and injure many more on a bike path in lower Manhattan. Saipov had immigrated from Uzbekistan in 2010 and authorities say he was inspired by ISIS.
