A Florida murder victim recorded the last moments of her life, helping police identify her alleged killer, according to reports.
Louis Jules, 59, was arrested and faces charges following the shooting deaths of a 37-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman on October 3.
Tampa Police responded to the shooting on El Portal Drive around 11 a.m. Police found a cell phone next to the body of the female video, and on the phone was video of the last moments of her life, Law and Crime reported. That video helped police identify Jules as a suspect, the website reported.
"While the pain of losing a loved one never goes away, I'm proud of the swift work of our officers and detectives that will bring these families some answers," said Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw. "Crimes like this will not be tolerated, and our officers and detectives proved their determination to deliver justice quickly."
Police were in the process of notifying the next of kin of the victims and therefore their identities were not made public.
Police said that after the shooting, Jules fled the scene, but police were able to arrest him around 6 p.m. after he was identified as a suspect.
Police said that the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
