Text messages between members of a Georgia family allegedly show them discussing how deep to dig a hole to dispose of the bodies of two children they allegedly murdered.

Elwyn Crocker Jr. was 14 when he disappeared in 2016, and Mary Frances Crocker was 13 when she disappeared in 2018. Neither were initially reported missing, WJCL-22 reported. The bodies of both children were found and dug up by police in December of 2018.

Earlier this year, text messages between the children's father, Elwyn John Crocker Sr., and Mary's grandmother, Kim Wright, were revealed in a court hearing. Crocker Sr. is accused of torturing, killing and burying the children, Savannah Morning News reported.

In the messages, Crocker Sr. texted Wright "Almost done burying Mary's body." Wright responded, "Cool! How deep?", WJCL-22 reported.

Murder charges still are pending against Crocker Sr. and Wright who face the possibility of the death penalty if convicted. Three other adults also were charged in the case and have since pleaded guilty.

In October 2020, Candice Crocker and Roy Anthony Prater pleaded guilty to murder. In August of this year, the children's uncle, Mark Wright, pleaded guilty to several charges, including second-degree murder, cruelty to children, and false imprisonment, WJCL-22 reported.
