After 27 years, the family of Amy Bradley still is searching for answers after she mysteriously disappeared while on a Royal Caribbean cruise.
"We've always had a gut feeling, as unrealistic as some may think it could be, after 27 years, that's she's still out there somewhere," her brother Brad told the Daily Mail.
Amy was traveling with her brother Brad and her parents, Iva and Ron. Amy, who was 21 at the time, had been partying with her brother on March 23. Eventually, each returned to the cabin they shared with their parents, the Daily Mail reported.
Brad told the newspaper that he awoke around 5:30 a.m. and saw Amy asleep on a lounge chair near the closed door to the balcony. About half an hour later, he awoke again, and she was gone. She was never seen again.
The family is telling their story in the hopes of solving the enduring mystery. Aside from the exclusive story in The Daily Mail, Netflix also is airing a documentary on Amy's disappearance and the subsequent investigation.
"We can't not try," Brad told The Daily Mail. "If we say no to something like that, then it's almost like we're giving up, or we're missing out on a chance and an opportunity to get this in front of more eyes and ears."
The family has been adamant that Amy did not fall or jump from the balcony.
"We don't think she got anywhere near the rail," Brad says. "When we first got on the cruise, we're up on the eighth story, and I'm looking over the rail, kind of looking straight down, like 'Man, check this out.' She said, 'Nope.' She wouldn't even get close to it."
In the Netflix documentary, various theories regarding the disappearance are explored, including witnesses who say they saw Amy with someone around the time she vanished. There have also been various claims of sitings of Amy over the years including a cab driver in Curacao who claims he interacted with Amy after passengers were allowed to disembark the cruise ship, the Daily Mail reported.
