A man frustrated that his ex-girlfriend would not take him back accidentally blew himself up with a hand grenade, according to police.

The incident happened Sunday morning in Thailand. The Bangkok Post reported that Surapong Thongnak went to his ex-girlfriend's home to reconcile. When she rejected him, he reportedly tried to attack her with a pair of scissors but was stopped by several of her family members.

Thongnak then went to his car, retrieved a hand grenade, pulled the pin and threw it. When it didn't explode, Thongnak went to pick it up and throw it again, but this time, it exploded in his hand, killing him instantly, the newspaper reported.

Thaiger reported that he had attempted to throw the grenade at some of his ex-girlfriend's relatives. Four people were injured in the blast.

The website reported that police searched Thongnak's vehicle and did not find any further explosives. They did find 500 grams of crystal meth.
