Michael Vannak Khem Misiewicw, a high-profile U.S. Navy Commander, was arrested this week on federal bribery charges. A Cambodian native, Misiewicw was charged with accepting paid travel, services of prostitutes and concert tickets for Lady Gaga in Thailand from a defense contractor from Singapore, all in exchange for classified information, prosecutors said.
A budget bill was passed by the Republican-led House of of Representatives on Friday to fund the government, but also to de-fund the president's healthcare program, CBS News reported. The bill passed in a 230-189 vote, largely split along party lines.

Chicago police said at least one gunman walked up to a basketball court at Cornell Square Park in the southside of Chicago on Thursday evening and opened fire, injuring 13 people. The police said that thirteen people who were hit had varying injuries. Those wounded, including a serious injury to a 3-year-old boy, are being treated at local hospitals in Chicago's Back of the Yards neighborhood
