DeepMind, Google’s artificial intelligence division has been allowed access to patients’ data of three London hospitals run by Royal Free Trust. The data in encrypted form will be used to develop an app capable of alerting doctors about someone’s possible kidney injury. However, patients’ rights groups have criticized the move since the data may be used for any other purposes.
