Philadelphia authorities have identified the man whose torso was found stuffed in a suitcase and other body parts placed in trash bags in a Kensington alley as 53-year-old Vincent Good, and they have charged his caregiver and several relatives in connection with his killing and the alleged cover-up.

Investigators say a person searching for scrap metal in an alley off the 600 block of East Hilton Street discovered Good's torso inside a discarded suitcase on the morning of May 22, prompting police to respond to the scene.

Officers later located additional human remains in two large trash bags nearby that were in an early stage of decomposition, according to police and local media reports, according to People.

The Philadelphia Medical Examiner's Office determined that the remains all belonged to Good, who lived in Northeast Philadelphia. The medical examiner ruled Good's death a homicide and found that he died from multiple gunshot wounds.

Prosecutors allege that after the killing, his body was dismembered and parts were placed in the suitcase and trash bags before being dumped in the alley. Officials have not publicly detailed when they believe the shooting occurred or how long Good's remains were in the alley before they were found, Fox29 reported.

Philadelphia District Attorney officials said Good's caregiver, 53-year-old Liza Ridley, has been charged with murder and abuse of a corpse. Ridley's older sister, Bernadette Ridley, along with Ridley's daughter, Liza Robinson, and Robinson's boyfriend, Gnaeus Daniels, face charges including tampering with evidence and obstruction of justice, and Bernadette Ridley is also charged with abuse of a corpse. Authorities allege the relatives helped move, conceal, or dispose of Good's remains after his death.

Police have not disclosed a possible motive and say the investigation remains active. Detectives are reviewing evidence and timelines connected to Good's care and living arrangements in the period leading up to his killing.

Officials are urging anyone with additional information about Good's final days or the handling of his remains to contact the Philadelphia Police Homicide Unit at 215-686-3334 or submit a tip to 215-686-TIPS, as per CBS News.
