Former NFL superstar Antonio Brown is free on a $25,000 bond despite facing 30 years on an attempted murder charge.

Brown, 37, made more than $80 million during his NFL career, according to Spotrac. The relatively meaningless bond means that Brown, who appeared at his arraignment via video, will remain free while the charges are pending, NBC 6 reported.

Brown has pleaded not guilty to the charge and will be required to wear a GPS ankle monitor, according to the station. Brown was released last week after posting the bond.

Police have accused Brown of grabbing a gun from a security staffer after a celebrity boxing match in Miami in May. Prosecutors and police allege that he then fired two shots at a man he had fought with, NBC 6 reported.

However, Brown's attorney, Mark Eiglarsh, said that the description of events is incorrect. Eiglarsh, according to NBC 6, said that Brown used his own firearm and did not take a gun from a security staffer. Eiglarsh also has said that Brown did not aim the gun at anyone.

Brown played for four NFL teams from 2010 to 2021. Most of his career was spent playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers. At one point, he was considered one of the best wide receivers in the NFL, leading the league in receptions and yardage twice.
