New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd is in critical condition after being shot outside of a restaurant on Sunday.

Boyd, 29, was shot in the abdomen around 2:06 a.m. early Sunday morning and was taken to Bellevue Hospital, PEOPLE reported.

Although no arrests have been made in the shooting, police did release pictures of a suspect through Crimestoppers on Facebook.

"On Sunday, November 16, 2025, at approximately 2:06 A.M., in front of 156 West 38 Street, in the confines of the Midtown South Precinct, an unidentified individual discharged a firearm, striking a 29-year-old male victim in the abdomen," the Facebook post states. "The unidentified individual fled the location on foot traveling eastbound on West 38 Street to parts unknown."

The suspect was described as a male who was wearing a black cap, black sweatshirt, black pants, multi-colored sneakers, and carrying a black book bag.

Boyd was taken in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL draft by the Minnesota Vikings. He played for the Houston Texans in 2023 and 2024 before signing with the New York Jets this season.

The New York Post reported that Boyd was currently on injured reserve. The newspaper reported that Boyd was with a group of friends when a dispute resulted in gunfire. It was unclear if Boyd was the intended target in the shooting.
