Arizona police are trying to solve a mystery after discovering a woman's body stuffed in a cardboard box on a remote desert property.

Carolyn Ann Bosher, 57, was found inside the box on September 5. Polices aid Bosher as a transient from Las Vegas and described the case as a homicide investigation.

"I still can't wrap my head around it," Bosher's sister told 12News. The woman asked the station not to identify her by name. "It was horrifying, and I didn't want to believe that that was my sister they found in a box."

The owner of the property was driving around checking on things September 5 when he came upon the cardboard box that was placed inside a wash. In examining the box, the owner discovered what be believed was a dead body and called the police.

The Mohave County Sheriff's office said that another witness told them that the night before the body was found, he had seen a vehicle with its trunk open near the wash.

"Very, very sweet person. She would give you her last dollar if you wanted it, the shirt off her back if you needed it," her sister told 12News. "She is a person that didn't deserve this."

Bosher was eventually identified through fingerprints.

According to Las Vegas Police, Bosher was arrested and charged with Indecent Exposure on August 30, six days before her body was found in the desert.

"This investigation is ongoing, as we collaborate with LVMPD to uncover the details of this incident," the Mohave County Sheriff's office state. "There was nothing located on the scene to indicate that Bosher was killed at that location."
