In a James Bond-esque maneuver, a car thief evaded Seattle police by jumping a partly open drawbridge on Wednesday.

It was just after noon, and Seattle police were in hot pursuit of a stolen Audi Q5 near 10th Avenue East and Roanoke Street when it came upon the University Bridge that was still in the process of being lowered, the Seattle Times reported.

Footage acquired by King 5 shows the stolen car enter the empty oncoming lane of traffic, drive through the lowered traffic safety arms, drive onto the bridge, and jump the gap.

In the video, a string of pursuing police cars pulls to a stop, as the Audi continues out of sight.

Detective Brian Pritchard told the Seattle Times that there was no way officers were also going to jump the bridge. "It's not the movies. We'd never do anything like that," he said.

The Audi sustained damage to its undercarriage and was abandoned. The newspaper reported that police brought in a helicopter to search for the suspect, but he was able to evade them and remains at large.
