Police in Alabama are continuing to search for a father of three who was last seen in a liquor store with two women as evidence suggests a prostitution ring might have kidnapped and tortured him to gain access to his bank account.

Police said that Ronald Leslie Dumas Jr., 37, was abducted Dec. 15, 2024, sometime after he was seen in the liquor store. The realtor and chemist had returned his oldest son to his mother, Shakeria Samples, after spending time with him. Samples told PEOPLE that she gave Dumas a call to thank him for buying some new clothes for the child while they were out.

"I could hear people in his background, and I could tell that he wasn't at home, so I kind of just let him know we'll catch up later," she says. "

In February, police updated the case from a missing person investigation to an abduction. Police named five suspects, four of whom were from Tennessee:

  • Quintarius Shikelion White, 32, of Memphis, TN is wanted for first degree kidnapping.
  • Toure Laron McLaurin, 33, of Memphis, TN is wanted for first degree kidnapping.
  • Sabrina Rochelle Chambers, 27, of Huntsville, AL is wanted for first degree kidnapping.
  • Kierra Symone Clark, 27, of Memphis, TN is wanted for conspiracy to commit kidnapping.
  • Carissa Cash, 33, of Memphis, TN is wanted for first degree receiving stolen property.

In the video from the liquor store, Dumas is seen with Chambers and Kalisha McKinnie. McKinnie died in January from a drug overdose, News 19 reported.

In April, police announced that they had arrested Quintarius Shikelion White, 32, and Kierra Symone Clark, 27, both of Memphis, al.com reported.

In a court hearing for Clark, some of the details of what police believe might have happened to Dumas began to come out. FOX 54 in Memphis reported that police believe that Clark and White were members of a prostitution ring and helped orchestrated Dumas' kidnapping remotely.

Among the evidence discussed were text messages where Clark allegedly gave instructions such as to "pull his teeth out with pliers" in an effort to gain access to his bank account, FOX 54 reported.

Cash, McLaurin, and Chambers are still being sought in the case.
