An Oklahoma woman allowed her husband to sexually abuse and impregnate her 11-year-old daughter, according to police.
Police have charged Dustin Walker, 34, with child sexual abuse and Cherie Walker, 33, with enabling the sexual abuse, News on 6 reported. The couple were originally charged with felony child neglect after the 11-year-old girl delivered a full-term baby at home on Aug. 16.
The couple claimed to authorities that they were unaware the girl was pregnant.
"This child is traumatized," Muskogee County Assistant District Attorney Janet Hutson told News On 6. "She's been through a horrific ordeal. Not only has somebody gotten her pregnant, but she gave birth at home without medical assistance, and this will be her life for the rest of her life."
The sexual abuse charges were added after a DNA test revealed that Dustin Walker, who is the 11-year-old girl's stepfather, was a 99.9% match with the baby, NBC News reported.
"This is one of the most if not the most serious child sexual abuse and neglect cases I have ever prosecuted," Hutson said in a statement to NBC News.
Five other children were in the home and were living in what authorities described as "deplorable conditions." The children - aged 2, 4, 6, 7, and 9 - have been removed from the home, NBC News reported. The state of the home, however, resulted in additional felony counts of child neglect.
"The victims were found to be living in dog feces and had no clothing on," court documents say, according to NBC News
The network reported that the couple is being held on $100,000 bond each and that their next hearing is set for Sept. 3. Hutson told NBC that the couple potentially faces life in prison.
