MAGA podcaster Candace Owens is doubling down on her claim that France's First Lady Brigitte Macron is "definitely a man" after the presidential couple filed a defamation lawsuit against her on Wednesday.
On Wednesday's episode of her podcast, "Candace," Owens claimed the lawsuit filed against her by France's first couple is a publicity stunt, asserting that the Macrons know they are unlikely to win. Owens claimed they filed the lawsuit to "say to people, 'Ugh, well, it's not true because, look, I'm suing Candace Owens.'"
"If you need any more evidence that Brigitte Macron is definitely a man, it is just what is happening right now. The idea that you would file this lawsuit is all the proof that you need," Owens said.
The conservative influencer said her legal team has been in contact with Macrons' since January, but neither she nor her lawyers received a copy of the lawsuit before it was reported in the media.
"They did, instead, opt to give this lawsuit ahead of time to The Financial Times, The New York Times, CBS News. What does that tell you? It's a PR strategy," Owens claimed. "They don't care if they win. This is about running it through the press."
Later in the episode, Owens declared that the Macrons had "definitively met their match," accusing the couple of being bullies who filed the lawsuit in an attempt to smear her, but "it's not going to work."
"I cannot stand corruption. I cannot stand people that think they have the power to use and abuse people and then call up their rich homies in the press, right, powerful homies in the press and say 'go after this person,'" she said. "I don't like that. I don't like the attack dogs that you're sending along, it's very obvious."
Owens added that people around the world are rising up against what she called "perverts," a group she claimed includes the Macrons.
"I think you're sick. I think you're disgusting, and I am fully prepared to take on this battle on behalf of the entire world. On behalf of the entire world, I will see you in court," Owens concluded.
Owen's public statement came hours after news broke that the Macrons had filed suit calling her accusations "devastating lies" and alleging Owens knowingly platformed "known conspiracy theorists and proven defamers."
"These claims are demonstrably false, and Owens knew they were," the lawsuit states.
