An Ohio man who had recently watched body camera footage of his son being shot to death by police ran over and killed an officer who was directing traffic, according to prosecutors.

Rodney Hinton Jr., 38, was charged Friday with aggravated murder in the death of the Hamilton County sheriff's deputy as Larry Henderson, ABC News reported. The day before the incident, Hinton Jr.'s son, Ryan Hinton 18, was shot to death by police officers.

According to ABC News, prosecutor Ryan Nelson described Hinton Jr.'s actions as "calculated and premeditated."

"He lined up his car, deliberately accelerated his car, and purposely caused the death of an on-duty deputy sheriff," ABC News reported Nelson said.

Hinton Jr. allegedly ran Henderson over Friday night. On Friday morning, police held a press conference to discuss the shooting of Hinton Jr.'s son and released body camera footage.

According to police, Ryan Hinton was in a stolen car with three other individuals. When police stopped the car, all four people in the car took off, including Hinton, who police say was carrying a gun, WCPO Channel 9 reported.

On the video, an officer arrives at the scene and, within six seconds, shoots Hinton dead. On the body camera footage, Hinton emerges from between two dumpsters and is running when an officer fires.

Attorneys hired by the Hinton family to investigate the shooting released, said that they and the family had met with law enforcement regarding the shooting earlier Friday, ABC News reported.

"Ryan Hinton's family, including Ryan's father, was present at the meeting. and they were understandably distraught as they watched the bodycam video," a statement from the attorneys said, according to ABC News. "After the meeting with the police department, Ryan Hinton's father left in his own vehicle, and that was the last we heard from him until learning about the tragic incident involving a law enforcement officer who was working a traffic detail near the University of Cincinnati."
