New video footage shows the events leading up to the officer-involved shooting of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner's wife, Jillian Lauren Shriner, on April 8 in Los Angeles.

Police engaged with Shriner while in the neighborhood looking for three suspects connected to an unrelated hit-and-run.

In the video, released by the Los Angeles Police Department, shows Shriner's wife appearing barefoot and in the backyard holding a handgun. The footage also includes security camera footage and from an officer's body camera.

The security camera in the backyard shows Shriner walking around and then at one point racking and pointing the gun. The body camera footage then shows a different perspective. Officers are shouting at Shriner over a fence that obscures the view. Thet repeatedly identify themselves as police officers and ask her to put the gun down, telling her they are there to help her.

Eventually, one of the officers shouts that she is "racking" the gun, and gunfire erupts shortly after.

"The officers gave Shriner repeated verbal commands to drop the handgun. However, she did not comply. Moments later, Shriner racked the handgun, pointed at the officers, and fired, resulting in an officer-involved shooting," Captain Alex Chogyoji said, according to Fox News.

After about an hour, Shriner came out of the house and was taken to a hospital for treatment. She also was charged with attempted murder.
