A Tennessee woman allegedly plotted to murder her ex-husband, a former news anchor, promising a "future payment" to a undercover police officer who posed as a hitman.

Angelia Solomon, 55, faces charges of solicitation to commit first-degree murder. Her target, according to police, was Aaron Solomon, a former morning anchor for a local TV news station, PEOPLE reported.

The outlet reported that the arrest affidavit details how Solomon met a prospective hitman who actually was an undercover police officer, promised him a "future payment," and then provided the officer her vehicle registration as collateral to make Aaron "disappear and be put underground."

The meeting happened on April 11 in the parking lot of Cool Springs Mall, WSMV-4 reported. She was arrested shortly after the meeting. The motive for the plot was apparently to allow the couple's daughter to gain access to a trust fund. She also provided the undercover officer with information about where Solomon worked and lived and how he could find him.

Solomon was formerly a morning news anchor for WSMV-4.

The station reported that a concerned citizen tipped off police that Solomon might be shopping for a hitman. She is being held in jail on a $500,000 bond.
