Police in Mexico have captured a woman on the run for allegedly killing her fire captain wife in California.

Police say that Yolanda Marodi, 53, stabbed her wife, Rebecca Marodi, 49, to death on Feb. 17 and then fled to Mexico, Fox News reported. She was captured and turned over to U.S. marshalls in San Diego where she was charged with murder.

Police say this is not the first time that Yolanda Marodi, also known as Yolanda Olenjniczak, has stabbed a spouse to death. Previously, she served prison time for stabbing a male spouse to death in October 2000. Yolanda was convicted of manslaughter in the death in 2003, ABC-7 reported.

Police released information gleaned from the couple's security cameras at their home. According to an arrest warrant referenced by ABC-7, around 8 p.m. on Feb. 17, Yolanda was seen apparently chasing Rebecca with Rebecca yelling, "Yolanda! Please... I don't want to die."

The video shows Rebecca in the patio angle with blood on her back. The station reported that according to the arrest warrant, "Yolanda said 'You should have thought about that before.' Yolanda can be seen at one point standing in front of Rebecca with what appeared to be a knife in her right hand. Apparent blood was seen on Yolanda's arms..."

According to ABC-7, Yolanda began loading a vehicle with items such as luggage and pets about 10 minutes later.

Rebecca Marodi was a fire captain who had just been fighting the Eaton California wildfires at the time of her death.

"It is with great sadness that CAL FIRE reports the off-duty death of Fire Captain Rebecca "Becky" Marodi," a social media post from CAL FIRE stated at the time. "Captain Marodi served over 30 years with CAL FIRE, primarily in Riverside County, but also serving time in San Bernardino and San Diego Counties. The tragic loss of Captain Marodi is mourned by her family, friends, and her CAL FIRE family."
