A self-proclaimed Tennessee serial killer who killed his pregnant ex-girlfriend has plead guilty to three more murders, after making the stunning admission during his first trial.

Joshua Dotson plead guilty Friday to three counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of Divieon Parker, Renita Bennett, and Reginald Anderson, WREG-3 reported.

Dotson was sentenced to 159 years in prison for those crimes. The guilty plea means that Dotson has now been convicted of five murders. His total sentence for all of those crimes is now 261 years in prison.

Dotson confessed to the three murders after he was convicted of the 2020 killing of Jamesha Covson, 19, and her unborn child, USA TODAY reported. Dotson was convicted in that case in August 2024.

In that 2024 trial, Dotson testified in his own defense and compared himself to Michael Myers, the fictional killer from the 'Halloween' horror film franchise, USA TODAY reported.

"In court, he attempted to diminish" Covson's memory, calling her a "sex worker" and "claiming she was aware of his previous murders, which he argued was his motive for killing her," the newspaper quoted prosecutors.

"After five years, we are pleased to finally have justice for Dotson's multiple victims," prosecutors said in a statement, according to USA TODAY. "While no amount of time in prison will bring the victims back to their loved ones, we are content that he will never be a threat to our community again."
