A new Netflix documentary tackling the doomed cross-country trip of Brian Laundrie and Gabby Petito, is now set to feature interviews with her parents.

"In 2021, Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie went on a four month road trip across the United States documenting their van life on social media. Only one of them returned," the network stated in a promo posted on X.

The Petito case garnered national headlines in 2021. The couple had planned a four-month road trip starting in July, but Laundrie murdered Petito in August and dumped her body in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, according to authorities.

Interest in the case was fueled in part by the couple's travel vlog, which documented their journey and presented an image in stark contrast to the apparent troubled reality of their relationship.

An investigation began after Laundrie returned from the trip alone. He then disappeared himself, eventually killing himself in Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park, WFLA-8 reported.

The documentary on the case premieres Feb. 17.
