A Pennsylvania woman faces several charges after police say she handcuffed her 11-year-old son to an oil tank and locked him in a utility closet.

Chazzity Candelario, 33, is charged with unlawful restraint, false imprisonment, and endangering the welfare of a child, according to a police report. Candelario told police that she had a hard time controlling her children while away at work, WGAL-8 reported.

When police arrived at the home on Jan. 11, they found the 11-year-old handcuffed to the railing of a top bunk bed. The child told police he had been handcuffed in the basement but escaped, only to accidentally handcuff himself to the bed, WGAL-8 disclosed.

The child also told police that he had been handcuffed to the oil tank for up to two hours in the past, WGAL-8 revealed.

"She has a hard time controlling her children while she's away at work," Candelario told police, according to WGAL.

Candelario also told police that sometimes she locked the children in a utility closet, WHTM-27 reported. The station reported that she was being held in Lebanon County Prison with bail set at $100,000. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Jan. 23.
