A 77-year-old woman in Ohio has been arrested after allegedly shooting and killing a 58-year-old man who "jokingly" asked her to shoot him, according to a report.

The incident happened on Sunday evening when Kathleen Geiger and Arthur Osborne were joking around, during which Osborne asked Geiger to pull the trigger of a gun she was holding.

Geiger told police the two "were engaged in harmless banter when he jokingly requested she shoot him," according to court documents obtained by WCPO. She believed the gun was unloaded, leading her to move forward with the request and allegedly shot him once.

When police arrived at the scene, they found Osborne with a gunshot wound to the pelvic area. He was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

Geiger "believing her firearm was empty, pointed the weapon at Osborne and pulled the trigger. (She eventually) provided medical aid and called 911," court documents stated.

Geiger was taken into custody and is currently being held on a $10,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in court before a grand jury for potential indictment on October 31.
