Two former high-ranking FDNY officials have been swept up in a widening corruption probe, just days after the shocking resignation of New York City's police commissioner, in the latest story of corruption to hit New York in recent weeks.

Anthony Saccavino and Brian Cordasco, former employees of the FDNY's Bureau of Fire Prevention, were arrested by federal agents on charges of bribery, corruption, and making false statements, according to the New York Post.

There are no reported connections between the arrests and the resignations.

The news comes in the aftermath of a string of corruption scandals to hit the streets of New York.

Earlier this month, FBI agents raided the homes of two of New York City Mayor Eric Adams' top aides, according to multiple reports.

Additionally, New York Police Department Commissioner Edward Caban announced his resignation, making him the first major official to leave Mayor Eric Adams' administration since the onset of four separate federal investigations into both the mayor's office and the NYPD.

This is a developing story.
