‘Pokemon the Movie XY & Z’: Official release in Japan set July 2016; New legendary pokemon Magiana leaked

'Pokemon the Movie XY & Z' is a planned 19^th installment in the highly-popular animated franchise and will be directed by Kunihiko Yuyama. It is scheduled to be released in Japan theaters on July 2016. The legendary pokemon Magiana is said to make its on-screen debut in the upcoming film.

According to HNGN, a mythical and legendary new character is set to make its theatrical debut in the upcoming yet-untitled 19^th film in the 'Pokemon' franchise. The film is reportedly under the running title "Pokémon the Movie: X Y & Z - Volcanion and the Exquisite Mechanical Magiana".

It will feature the Magiana, a metallic, orb-like and bipedal pokemon created by man some 500 years past. The character, which is currently unavailable in Pokemon video games, was leaked in the March issue of CoroCoro magazine released in February 10, 2016.

The film is set to be released in Japan theaters in July 2016 and will follow the conflict between Volcanion and Magiana, according to Techno Buffalo. The English translation of the plot summary read, "As Ash and his friends continue their journey, Volcanion drops down from the sky in front of them... Volcanion's object is to recover Magiana, who has been abducted by the 'Azoth Kingdom,' a city of super-machinery."

According to another article by Polygon, Volcanion is officially the newest pokemon to be introduced into the franchise after being revealed by The Pokemon Company last December. It was first seen when fans data-mined 'Pokemon X' and 'Pokemon Y'.

Volcanion is a dual-type Fire/Water Mythical Pokemon officially revealed in December 14, 2016. The character is the last Pokémon in the Central Kalos Pokédex and the National Pokédex as of Generation VI and is currently unavailable in Pokemon games.

It is primarily depicted as a maroon quadruped with distinct blue and yellow markings. It has bright blue eyes and large pointed ears with arm-like canons on its back that are usually held together forming a ring. It has the ability to turn water vapor into powerful pressurized steam that can blow away mountains.

'Pokemon the Movie XY & Z' is a planned 19^th installment in the franchise's theatrical releases that will introduce two new characters Volcanion and Magiana. Kunihiko Yuyama, who worked on all 18 preceding films, will return to direct the script written by Atsuhiro Tomioka.
