Jodi Arias, the 32-year-old woman who was found guilty on May 8 of first-degree murder for the 2008 of Travis Alexander, pleaded for a life sentence to jurors on Tuesday, asking them not to punish her family. In her testimony, Arias referred to the family of her one -time lover and victim Travis Alexander, saying “I never meant to cause them pain.” Alexander was found dead in his Mesa Arizona home, having been shot in the head and stabbed nearly 30 times with his throat slit.
Miguel Schiappapietra, a Los Angeles police officer was arrested for allegedly commiting lewd acts on two children under 14. Schiappapietra was off duty when the arrest was made. Schiappapietra has been on the force for six years.
The search for Susan Powell, who was last seen on December 6, 2009 at her West Valley City, Utah home on December 6, 2009 home, has been called off by authorities. Powell was last been in her home, which she shared with Josh, her husband. He was the only person of interest ever named in the case. He denied ever having anything to do with his wife's disappearance before killing himself and the couple's sons last year when he set fire to their rented home in Washington.
