Police in Connecticut arrested Joseph Stravinskas who pulled out a rifle-like BB-gun while President Obama's motorcade passed by him. Authorities said that Stravinskas was pacing back and forth then pulled out the gun as the motorcade went by in Bloomfrield while he was returning to Bradley International Airport. Fox News reporter Jana Winter is the woman who first reported about the notebook that suspect James Holmes allegedly sent to his psychiatrist before last July's massive shooting in an Aurora movie theater. She now could face jail time for not revealing how she obtained the notebook. She is scheduled to testify on Wednesday.
Anne Smedinghoff, the 25-year old suburban Chicago woman, joined the U.S. Foreign Service straight out of college, was among those killed in a terrorist attack in southern Afghanistan on Saturday, the Chicago Sun Times reported. Smedinghoff was killed, along with five Americans, in a suicide car bombing while delivering textbooks to school children on Saturday. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.
Samuel Little, a 72-year-old former boxer, transient and alleged serial killer awaits trial in Los Angeles for strangulation-murder charges of two women. There are nationwide jurisdictions of cold murder cases with possible ties to him. Little has accumulated more than a 100-page rap sheet details, involving crimes in 24 states over 56 years. Thus far, for his crimes, he has only served less than 10 years in prison.
