Israel Keyes, a serial killer in Alaska, may be linked to 11 killings, and may have possible ties to even more slayings, according to federal agents. Keyes committed suicide in December 2012, after police say he confessed to at least seven murders nationwide, which extended from Vermont to Washington state.

83-year-old Boston mobster James 'Whitey' Bulger was found guilty on 31 of 32 counts on Monday. Some of the charges he was found guilty included extortion, money laundering, drug dealing and weapons possession. He was also held responsible for the murder of 11 people.

New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg blasted a federal judge's rebuke of the NYPD's stop-and-frisk policy as discriminatory, and warning that the decision could instigate a spike in high violent crimes in the city
