Industry observers are concerned about the serious implications of the "right to be forgotten" ruling of an European Union court yesterday to the businesses of Web companies like Google Inc and Microsoft Corp.

The Washington Post said two of the three judges at the US Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit stole the show on Tuesday as they made opposing arguments regarding Virginia's ban on legally recognizing same-sex marriages.

An industry expert revealed to PCWorld that the latest ruling that ordered Google Inc to remove links to personal information of an individual could make data mining and research more difficult online.
