Actress Reese Witherspoon has concluded her lawsuit against Sears after reaching a settlement between the company and other defendants. The lawsuit which began in 2013 was previously set to move forward through a trial later this month.

The potential Addleshaw Goddard and Maclay Murray & Spens has been dropped after a spokesman from Maclay said that they are not in talks for any collaboration as of the moment. If pushed through, analysts suggest that the merger would have caused turnout of more than £200 million.

The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan retained a decision on Apple over conspiracy with five publishers to raise e-book prices. The company agreed to settle antitrust claims of $450 million.
