Ronald L. Bell has had a successful legal career, from being the editor of the John Marshall Law Review as a law student to arguing before former Supreme Court Chief Justice Rehnquist. He is the founder of Ronald L. Bell & Associates, P.C., and has well over four decades of experience practicing law in the state of Illinois. Bell has represented a wide spectrum of clients and has worked in government, in-house counsel, and private practice. Though he has handled a large variety of cases, he is now focused on family law.

"I have concentrated on family law and child custody for my entire 46-year career, handling multimillion-dollar divorces and complicated child custody cases," Bell says.

A Long Career in the Law

Bell graduated from college at 20 and earned his Juris Doctor from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois, when he was 23 years old.

He embarked on his legal career in the 1980s and served as an Assistant Illinois Attorney General for 4 years. It was during this time that he had the honor to present a motion before Chief Justice William Rehnquist. He also argued many cases before the Illinois Supreme Court and the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. Bell was also appointed a special prosecutor in DuPage County. Bell was also appointed a special prosecutor in DuPage County and was appointed by judges to investigate matters before the court.

Starting in the late 1980s, Bell served as the Chief Corporate Counsel for International Profit Associates, Inc., Integrated Business Analysis, Inc., and International Tax Associates, LLC.

"I was the chief legal counsel to one of the largest management consulting companies in the USA for 20 years, trying cases throughout the United States. I won every case," Bell states.

In this vital role, Bell consulted on legal and business affairs and was the lead counsel for most of their cases. Among the cases he handled were SEC, copyright, appeals, fraud, RICO charges, EEOC charges, competition clauses, libel, unfair competition, contract disputes, collection, and represented hundreds of their employees.

A Practice Rooted in Legal Mastery

In 1985, Bell founded his private practice, Ronald L. Bell & Associates, P.C. His practice has handled many different types of litigation. His extensive casework includes family law, medical malpractice, personal injury, civil litigation, contested divorce, domestic relations, federal civil rights actions, and more.

"I have had multi-million-dollar settlements in personal injury, medical malpractice, and civil litigation. I have tried major felony cases involving life imprisonment and won," Bell says.

Over the years, Bell has argued landmark cases, including the leading case on college education obligations in divorce proceedings. He has also handled high-profile divorce cases for celebrities, sports figures, TV personalities, and multimillionaires.

Bell is well regarded in his profession and in his community. His expertise and vast knowledge of the law have earned the respect of his peers and judges. He has also been a leader in developments in implied consent, sentencing, and search and seizure laws in the state.

Throughout his career, Bell has often topped the list of best lawyers, including America's Top 100 Criminal Attorneys for 4 years, Top Elite Lawyers, and Top 100 Lawyers of the Year, among others. He has also been named in The New York Times and USA Today as one of the top lawyers in the United States.

Bell is also an author, having written the book Understanding Divorce in Illinois.
