Jeffrey Epstein found dead in prison in August 2019

The FBI's conclusion that Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide has reignited backlash from his brother, Mark Epstein, who called the findings laughable and questioned the integrity of the investigation.

Federal officials released a memo on Sunday, declaring that after a "thorough investigation," the FBI and DOJ determined Epstein took his own life at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York on August 10, 2019, News Nation reported. The report also stated Epstein left behind no "client list," contradicting prior claims from Attorney General Pam Bondi, who had publicly suggested such a list existed and was under review.

Mark Epstein, speaking to CUOMO, said the new findings only deepen his suspicions. "Every time they try to quash the idea that he was murdered, they put their foot further in their mouth," he said. He specifically singled out FBI Director Kash Patel, saying, "When Kash Patel came out with that statement, I laughed at how stupid it was."

In addition to the memo, the DOJ released partial surveillance footage from outside Epstein's cell from the night before his death. But Mark Epstein says that's not the full picture. He had previously filed a Freedom of Information Act request for footage covering the entire cellblock tier between 10 p.m. on August 9 and noon the next day.

His request was denied during the investigation and later rebuffed with claims that the footage didn't cover the area in question.
