A Mississippi nurse says she shot her husband in self-defense when he attacked her over a social media friend request.

Rashaan Wallace, 30, is charged with murder in the shooting death of Damion Reed, 33, WLBT-3 reported.

Reed apparently had access to Wallace's social media accounts. On Sunday, Feb. 23, around 11:30 a.m., he became upset by a friend request Wallace had made, the station reported.

Reed reportedly began to approach Wallace, and she fired a warning shot in his direction. When Reed continued to approach her, Wallace she shot him dead, police said according to WLBT-3. After the shooting, Wallace used her medical training and immediately began CPR. She also called the police.

Jackson Police Chief Joseph Wade told the Clarion Ledger that there was a child in the home at the time of the shooting. Wade said that Reed was shot in the stomach and died on the scene. He added that the child in the home was not injured in the incident.

Wallace had a court appearance on Monday. The judge set her bond at $500,000, WJTV-12 reported.
