A Louisiana man accused of stabbing his friend multiple times before leaving his friend's home wearing his clothes has been convicted of murder.

Cody Salvador Guccione, 29, was convicted of second-degree murder in connection with the stabbing death of Guccione's friend, Leo Jack, as reported by KATC.

The incident occurred during the evening of Feb. 3, 2021, when law enforcement said Guccione arrived at Jack's home and allegedly stabbed his friend multiple times. He then reportedly dragged Jack's body into a closet, tried to clean up the floor, changed into Jack's clothes and left the home, KLFY reported.

Jack's upstairs neighbor testified that he heard a fight taking place that day. After pinpointing the time at about 5:48 p.m., officials obtained security footage where they reportedly witnessed Guccione walking out of Jack's home in his clothes and carrying a garbage bin. Guccione was later seen returning to the home to remove Jack's doorbell camera.

U.S. Marshalls arrested Guccione five days later at a hotel in Lafayette while his abandoned vehicle was discovered in a wooded area.

Guccione's sentencing is scheduled for March 11, where he faces up to life at hard labor.
