Trucker Protest: Angry Drivers Plan To Clog Traffic ‘Three Lanes Deep’ On Capital Beltway In 3-Day Demonstration Against Government

By

A caravan of truck drivers are planning a three-day protest to demonstrate a host of grievances, which they feel have been "destroying America." Their wide-ranging demonstration will reportedly focus on unfair wages, gas prices and federal regulations on their industry, foxnews.com reported.

The truckers are reportedly planning to clog the Washington Beltway by driving "three lanes deep" between October 11-13, foxnews.com also reported.

The truckers have stated their dismay over the national debt and the National Security Agency's surveillance practices.

Earl Conlon, a trucker, said that they seek the arrest of Congress members who have "violated their oath office. We want these people arrested, and we're coming in wth the grand jury to do it," he said to U.S. News and World Report.

However trucker Greg Ellis, a supporter of the campaign said, "Nobody is going to try to effect an arrest on congressmen or anything like that," he told FoxNews.com. He described the pending protest as "peaceful."

The "Truckers Ride For The Constitution" Facebook page has nearly 70,000 'likes.'

"The American people are sick and tired of the corruption that is destroying America! We therefore declare a GENERAL STRIKE on the weekend of October 11-13, 2013! Truck drivers will not haul freight! Americans can strike in solidarity with truck drivers!", the page described the protest.

The Facebook page was created on September 23.
