MCU is bound to get wider with the advent of new superheroes, one of which is Spider-Man, who is set to star in his solo movie. Zendaya has been casted for an important role, while directors Joe and Anthony Russo revealed his importance in the upcoming flick Captain America: Civil War where he will make his MCU debut.

Zendaya has officially jumped on board the project in a currently undisclosed character. According to Variety, Zendaya will play an important character alongside Tom Holland's Spider-Man and Marisa Tomei's Aunt May, her character will neither be a love interest nor a lead role, but one that will become bigger in the next installments.

The character has also made his first appearance in the trailer for the upcoming Captain America: Civil War. However, as reported by Cinemablend, many were more intrigued by his suit which some think is a bit overdone with CGI. Thus Captain America: Civil War directors Joe and Anthony Russo revealed their thoughts about his suit and said that they are happy with the look that also pleased the Marvel executives.

"He's a very popular character so it's always going to be controversial, people are always going to love or hate what you do with him, but all we can do is make sure that we love it, that we are true to ourselves and true to how we feel about the character and then hope that everybody else digs it," Joe Russo said.

As reported by The Week, the directors also revealed that they have always wanted to have Spidey for the Captain America film but remained quiet as negotiations took place. They also mentioned that the young character will play a very interesting part in the flick as he does not carry as much baggage as the other heroes have, which puts him in a unique spot in the whole story.

The yet to be titled Spider-Man reboot is set to be directed by Jon Watts from screenplay written by John Francis Daley, and Jonathan M. Goldstein. Plot details are currently under wraps but more information about the project are expected to be revealed as it approaches its July 07, 2017 release date.
