LG G4 Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update Still Rolling Out on US Cellular

By

US Cellular has finally rolled out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to its LG G4 smartphones since last week and continues to more units this week to complete the update to their devices. The carrier moved second to Sprint to release such update to G4.

LG G4 owners under mobile carrier US Cellular are getting a treat with official release of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update since last week. On the carrier's support page for Android updates, it underscored four Marshmallow features that would surely make G4 experience unforgettable.

US Cellular is the second major carrier in the United States to roll out such update, while owners from other carriers like AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless are now screaming jealous.

Among the features US Cellular gave emphasis to include Now on Tap, Doze, app permissions and the fingerprint support.

Now on Tap is the addition to Google Now which works by press holding the Home button to perform more actions without going to the app itself. It will recommend actions based on the current activity or content on the interface.

Doze puts the device into a sleep state to save battery life when device is not in use. Battery drain is also prevented.

App permissions will only ask to access features when necessary. Users can control which resources can be accessed through application manager.

The fingerprint sensors on the device can be used to unlock phone, verify purchases and confim payment transactions in stores or even making purchases using apps.

If the update has not come to the device, check it through the following steps:

1. Go to Settings.

2. Tap About device.

3. Tap Update Center.

4. Tap Software Updates.

5. Follow on screen instructions.

Remember that updating without the use of a USB cable needs a registered Google account and device is connected to a Wi-Fi.
