'Underworld 5' is an upcoming action-horror film directed by Anna Foerster. Kate Beckinsale, who plays the lead protagonist, continues to work amid split from long-time husband and director Len Wiseman. Principal photography continues in Prague.
According to Just Jared, Beckinsale has been spotted around Los Angeles ring less and going solo. The 42-year old English actress, who plays lead protagonist Selene in the 'Underworld' films, recently separated from her long-time husband Len Wiseman who she met in 2003 on the set of the first 'Underworld' film. The two continue to remain amicable for the sake of their children.
An article from the Daily Mail reported that Beckinsale and Wiseman had been married for 11 years. Soon after their break-up, Wiseman was photographed without his wedding band while being out in public with 24-year old model CJ Franco. An unnamed source close to the couple said, 'They have both had complicated schedules and have grown apart.'
During a previous interview with Parade Magazine, Beckinsale gushed about having to work side by side with her then-husband on their movie projects together.
She said, 'The first time we met each other was when we were filming Underworld, and then we worked together again after we'd been married a short while, and now we've been married seven years, so I've had quite a few different experiences along the way... It's different each time. We love it. I think one of the things we like least about our jobs is that it can force separation from each other."
Wiseman directed Beckinsale in the Underworld films from 2003 to 2012. He will only return as producer for the upcoming 'Underworld 5', otherwise known as 'Underworld: Next Generation'. Anna Foerster is replacing Wiseman in the director's seat for the latest film.
According to Entertainment Weekly, principal photography for the new film began in October in Prague, Czech Republic. Beckinsale is joined by 'Divergent' star Theo James as he reprises his role as the vampire David. Charles Dance, Lara Pulver, Tobias Menzies, Bradley James, Alicia Vela-Bailey, Oliver Stark, Daisy Head, Brian Caspe and Peter Andersson make up the rest of the cast.
'Underworld 5' is an upcoming action-horror film scheduled to be released on October 21, 2016. It is directed by Anna Foerster based on a script by Cory Goodman.
