Police: Texas Woman Allegedly Tried To Hide Drugs In Rectum During DWI Arrest

By

Authorities in Central Texas are accusing a 23-year-old woman of trying to conceal drugs she had on her by putting them in her rectum after she was arrested for driving while intoxicated last Sunday.

The woman in question is identified as Alexandra Millie Ruder. She has been charged with tampering with evidence. If proven guilty, the charge is a third-degree felony and she could face 10 years in prison, My San Antonio reported.

As per the arrest affidavit, Ruder was pulled over by an officer from Round Rock Police Department after she was seen swerving on Interstate 35. She also reportedly changed lanes without signaling and almost hit a wall as well as other vehicles. The officer noted that when she was asked to step out of the car, she was unsteady on her feet and her speech was slurred.

NBC also reported that after the officer searched the vehicle of Ruder, two-and-a-half pills of alprazolam (Xanax) and hydrocodone were found. These had no prescription. She was then arrested and when she was being taken out of the police cruiser, another officer detected the strong odor of marijuana. It was also reported that crushed white powder and green leafy substance were found where Ruder sat.

After the discovery, officers searched Ruder and found alprazolam, hydrocodone and marijuana in her rectum. The weight of all the pills was 5.8 grams while the marijuana weighed 0.025 ounces.

It was also reported by Patch that Ruder told officials she had to change her tampon after she was placed in a holding cell. She then discovered that the detainee restroom has a toilet designed to not flush and she attempted to hide partially dissolved hydrocodone pills in a toilet paper.

Ruder was released from Williamson County Jail after posting for a $12,500 bond. There are no details yet as to when her court appearance is.
