The drummer for "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" has died. Ed Shaughnessy was 84, Robyn Flans, a close friend and his co-writer of his memoir "Lucky Drummer." The cause of death was a heart attack, which he suffered at his home in Calabasas, California on Friday morning.
The New York City police temporarily shut down the Brooklyn Bridge on Monday as an abandoned Dodge Durango was spotted on the road. The police were determining whether the vehicle represented a threat, the Associated Press reported. The car without any license plates on the Manhattan-bound lanes, came in around 5:15 p.m. on Monday.

Roger Dean, a registered nurse in Sydney Australia, has pleaded guilty to murdering 11 elderly people by setting on the the nursing home where he worked. He also pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm to another eight nursing home residents injured by the fire in 2011.
