Rapper Kanye West Deletes Pro-Trump Statements Following Travel Ban

By

Kanye West who said in December 2016, that having a relationship with President Donald Trump is important "if we truly want change", now appears to have changed his mind about the president. Sources claim that the rapper has deleted his pro-Trump statements on Twitter following the latter's travel ban.

West's career took an unexpected turn at the end of 2016, when the rapper aligned himself with Trump. He met with the then-President-elect in Trump Tower, surprising many fans, critics and commentators, The Guardian reported.

The rapper's meeting with the US president also followed a series of surprising statements and tweets in the following weeks. During a live performance in California last November, West mentioned that he would have voted for the businessman-turned-politician in the 2016 presidential elections if he had cast his ballot. He was hospitalized for exhaustion shortly after the performance.

However, it now appears that the famous rapper has turned against Trump as he has expunged all mentions of the Republican politician from his account. Previous mentions that have noticeably disappeared from West's timeline include his explanation for meeting Trump in December to discuss "multicultural issues" pertaining "bullying, supporting teachers, modernizing curriculums and violence in Chicago". Another message of West deliberating the purpose of the discussion, calling it "important to have a direct line of communication with our future president if we truly want change" is among those deleted.

According to TMZ, Trump travel ban which restrained refugees and travelers from seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the U.S. was one of the catalysts for West's social media purge. It looks like Trump's celebrity support circle is slowly diminishing as his presidency continues.
