A Maryland cornhole champion who is a quadruple amputee has been charged with murder after allegedly shooting a passenger inside his vehicle during an argument, authorities said.
Investigators in Charles County, Maryland, say 27-year-old Dayton James Webber was driving his Tesla SUV in La Plata on Sunday night when he became involved in a dispute with his front-seat passenger, identified as 27-year-old Bradrick Michael Wells of Waldorf.
During that argument, Webber allegedly fired a gun and fatally shot Wells as they traveled along Radio Station Road. Officials have not released details about what sparked the confrontation or how long it lasted, according to ABC News.
According to the Charles County Sheriff's Office, two other people were riding in the back seat at the time of the shooting and told detectives they saw Webber shoot Wells.
After the gunfire, Webber reportedly pulled the SUV over and asked the backseat passengers to help remove Wells' body from the vehicle, but they refused. The pair then got out of the car and flagged down police a short distance away, investigators said.
Officers initially searched the area but were unable to locate the victim or the SUV. About two hours later, a resident in Charlotte Hall, roughly 12 miles from La Plata, called 911 to report a body in a yard, where deputies found Wells dead from apparent gunshot wounds.

Authorities allege Webber had driven away from the original scene and left Wells' body at that location before continuing on, Crime Online reported.
Webber, a well-known cornhole competitor who has drawn national attention for winning tournaments despite having no arms or legs, was later arrested in Virginia, according to local reports.
He is being held on first- and second-degree murder charges connected to Wells' death, along with related firearms offenses, officials said. Investigators have stated there is currently no indication that anyone else was involved and that Webber is believed to have acted alone.
Authorities have not explained how Webber, who is a quadruple amputee, was able to both operate the vehicle and fire a weapon during the incident.
Detectives are continuing to review physical evidence, interview witnesses, and examine Webber's social media and online videos as they work to understand exactly what happened inside the SUV. The investigation remains active, and additional details are expected to emerge as the case moves through the court system, as per The Express.
