Kate Middleton Pregnant: Duchess of Cambridge Rushed to Hospital for Hyperemesis Gravidarum

Just as officials from the Buckingham Palace confirmed that Kate Middleton and Prince Williams were expecting a baby, the Duchess of Cambridge was rushed to the hospital for hyperemesis gravidarum on Monday.

According to the official royal website, her condition is described as am "acute morning sickness, which requires supplementary hydration and nutrients."

Middleton is currently being treated in the King Edward VII Hospital in central London.

An excerpt from the official statement on the royal website read as follows: "Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby....The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news."

The British Prime Minister, David Brown told BBC News, "It's absolutely wonderful news and I'm sure everyone around the country will be celebrating with them tonight...I was handed a note in a meeting. And I have to say, it was difficult to keep it a secret," as reported by ABC News.

The rumors of a pregnancy started as soon as the royal couple wed in April 2011, with the media constantly looking for signs of a pregnant Middleton. Now, less than a year after the couple tied the knot, the couple is expecting their first child, and the third great grandchild of the Queen of England.

The child will be the heir to the British Throne if the new legislation is approved, as reported by ABC News.
